I was referring to the "Addition"/"Edition" confusion, not the reference.
Besides, I think the title is not a Simpsons' reference. I think it came from "The Critic." As I recall, Jon Lovitz's character said something to the effect of "Coming up, my preview of 'Death Wish 6.'" Then, the clip was of an ancient Charles Bronson in the hospital saying "I wish I were dead."
The Simpsons had some great Bronson references of their own, though. There is Bronson, Missouri (Kid: "Hey ma, how bout some cookies?" Mom: "No dice." Kid: "This... ain't over.").
And, of course, there is Charles Bronson's short-lived turn on the "Andy Griffith Show." (Barney: "Where's Otis, he isn't in his cell?" Bronson, handling his gun: "I shot him. Now I'm off to Emmitt's fix-it-shop... to fix Emmitt.")
dammit, i checked wikipedia. although the the "i wish i were dead" line was uttered by jay sherman, it was in "the simpsons'" crossover episode "a star is burns," not from "the critic."

You know this was posted by a Tech guy- the spelling may be off, but math is always on his mind.
The title of the post is actually a Simpsons quote.
